President: Dave Jones
Dave Jones is a lifelong resident of Bennett County. David was owner of Ace Hardware in Martin for 41 years. David sold the business in 2021 and is enjoying his retirement. David is married to his wife Mary for 49 years. David has 4 daughters and 10 grandchildren. David enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, riding horses and most of all spending time with all of his family. David has served on the hospital board for 23 years and is passionate about keeping our health care facilities to service our community.
Vice President: Brad Otte
Board Member Brad Otte was born and raised in Gordon, NE where he lived on a ranch northwest of Gordon. Brad married his wife Shelly in 1980. They have a son and daughter and 6 grandchildren. Since 1976 Brad has worked as an auctioneer in area sale barns including Gordon, Rushville, Crawford and Bassett, Nebraska, and Winner and Martin, South Dakota. In 1992 Brad added Real Estate Broker to his title allowing him to represent sellers of farm, ranch, residential and commercial property by auction and private treaty. Brad and Shelly owned the Martin Livestock Auction from 1997 to 2019, and is still employed as an auctioneer and field representative for the company. He also works with BigIron Realty and Auctions selling equipment and real estate on an online auction platform. Brad has served on the board of directors of the South Dakota Livestock Auction Markets Association, treasurer from 2004 to 2011, Vice President from 2012 to 2014 and President of the Association in 2015 and 2016. Brad has also served on the Bennett County Fair Board, Martin City Council, Mayor of Martin, and currently on the Bennett County Hospital board. Brad looks forward to seeing the hospital continue as a leader within the community, while meeting the needs of our community and surrounding area.
Secretary: Dale McDonnell
Dale McDonnell moved to an area ranch in 1951. He married his high school sweet heart Bonnie who he has three children with. Dale also has eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Dale has also been very active in the community while owning several business such as Dales TV and Appliance, The General Store, McDonnell Contracting and Management, and the Crossroads Inn. Dale has also been on several boards including three tours on the hospital board spanning a combined 40 years, three other medical boards, Fair board, Library Board, County Commissioners Board, and the City Council. Dale was partially retired in 2017 after he sold the Crossroads Inn but after he realized it was not operating the way he envisioned it for the community he reacquired it late 2018. Dale notes that he has seen a lot of changes within our community and would like to see it continue to be a vibrant community.

Member: Jeff Johnson
Jeff Johnson was born in Martin and had been a lifelong resident of Bennett County. Jeff graduated from Bennett County High school in 1981 and received his BS in Animal Science from SDSU in 1985. Jeff is married to Lonna and they have two children Bo and Annie. They farm and ranch in the Vetal Area. Jeff is our newest member beginning his term in January of 2018. Previously, his Mother Elsie Johnson had been a board member in the 1990’s. Jeff feels it is an honor to be on the board and that we are well represented and poised for growth in our community services.
